Radium Girls tells the true story of Grace Fryer, a young dial painter in the 1920s who discovers that the luminous radium paint she and her co-workers were encouraged to lick from their brushes is slowly poisoning them. As her friends fall ill and the company denies responsibility, Grace bravely takes on the powerful U.S. Radium Corporation in a fight for truth, justice, and safer working conditions. Blending drama with dark humor, the play highlights the devastating human cost of corporate greed and the extraordinary courage of ordinary women whose struggle helped spark lasting reforms in workplace safety.
